John Henry Matthews Robson, 1870-1945, arrived in Kuala Lumpur in 1889, and for 50 years worked as a government official, newspaper editor and businessman. He was a co-founder of the Selangor Journal and founder, in 1896, of the Malay Mail. He acted as agent for Loke Yew and served on the Federal Council. He retired to England in 1927, but almost immediately returned to Malaya where he wrote these memoirs.

Contains black-and-white illustrations and photographs.

A very good copy in original red cloth hardback. Slight bumping to the corners and bottom of the spine. No dust jacket.

Light yellowing and foxing to some pages.
